Don't Rush Out of Your Season
God operates in seasons. The Word declares that there is a time for everything. Therefore, there must be time allowed for everything. (Ecclesiastes 3:1) It’s one thing to know, it’s another to walk through. The walking through is the only place where truth becomes real. And some seasons God leads us into are more challenging than others. I woke this morning with the words, “Don’t rush out of your season” accompanied by James 1:4 - “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” I am grateful for God’s reminders. It can be tempting to rush the season God has us in, or seek to get out of it. But when we surrender and trust His heart in them, His Spirit produces something in us so deep that can only be cultivated by choosing to walk through the season with Him. We can run around our whole lives undeveloped, with shallow root systems and unhealed hearts, or, we can choose to say yes, to whatever it looks like, and allow God to make us into what Psalm 1:3 declares:
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
