When You Don't Know What to Ask
Do you ever find yourself in particular circumstances where you just don't know what to ask God? I do. Sometimes, we just don't know what to ask God. However, this is not a cause for frustration. What I feel God is encouraging us with is this: to simply start the conversation.
I think oftentimes we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to have our ducks in a row when we come to God. Or, maybe we're afraid to ask Him the questions that are really stirring in our hearts. But in His compassion and understanding, there lies an open invitation to bring Him us--the very place we are at. Because, even if we can't articulate what we're truly feeling, God knows. The One who searches our hearts and knows our spirit is able to answer the simplest of expressions towards Him. The most important thing is simply that we come. And oftentimes, it's in this place that as His spirit searches ours, He gives light and language to what we are actually feeling and clarity to the questions that we have.
I love the Father. You and I are so understood. We are safe in His presence, and no question, whether seemingly scary, difficult, or unclear on our end, is too much for God. He is filled with love. He loves our process. He knows. We just simply need to start the conversation, open our hearts, and rest in Him. Never will He withhold. He will speak. He is faithful. He is good. So, "therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)
Thank You, Father.
